The Microsoft MVP program recognizes outstanding contributions to the technical community. MVPs have a series of benefits for the year of the award. Still, they get to keep the past credit and some amazing goodies such as an awesome trophy, certificate, pin, stickers and most importantly the glory attached to receiving one of those awards.
Once your award year ends and you don’t get re-awarded you join the Microsoft Reconnect program, where some activities, community calls and spotlights are organized by Microsoft.
Microsoft is now retiring the MVP Reconnect program, also known as rMVP. The community site is shutting down but the level of engagement was already low.
What makes the real rMVP community are its members and not Microsoft’s ability to manage the program. With that in mind, I created a DISCORD server to gather MVPs and rMVPs to discuss our community engagements and promote collaboration in events and community engagement in general.
In 24 hours, we reached the 100 members mark and are still growing!
